Heavenly Residence is unique in term of its location and facilities. For starters, it is a private-villa residence, and not your typical hotel resorts. The villa quality, furnishings, amenities and customized service however, often surpass of those with International hotel or resort chains found in Bali.
Secondly, the site of where it is located and build, its almost mind-boggling how it was conceptualized and built. The villas are literally perched on the cliff-front thus unnoticed from the eye-level but rather spectacular if viewed from the ocean. As a result, sheer privacy and unbelievable vista is assured from any of the villa. THE LUXURY VILLAS VILLA “OMG” (4bedroom villa - Villa 1) 4bedroom is the largest villa of Heavenly Residence. An architectural marvel in itself, the villa is set in steps cascading down the cliff, like paddy terraces, and took over 18 months to build. Called Villa OMG for ’Oh My God’, it is named after the gasps of involuntary surprise made by those who set foot upon this villa for the first time.
That awe is well deserved: first, it is huge, at 700 sq m (7,534 sq ft), and second, from the 180-degree views available from the villa, it appears as though the Indian Ocean has just been laid at one’s feet, wide and endless. The 25-m long (27-ft) infinity-edge lap pool has its long sides pouring out seaward. A mere glimpse is surely an invitation to sit in the inset jacuzzi and try to figure out where the sea, the horizon and the pool’s edge meets. Once out of the water, there is also a long ironwood sundeck, complete with a “bale” and lawn, offering equally splendid views. With a capacity of 50, a more dramatic setting for a glamourous party or wedding would be hard to imagine. But Villa OMG is more than its exterior. Acid washed marble flooring flows through the villa, which is filled with woven rattan and seagrass furniture. Thai silk of various colours are used to denote different areas of the villa: bronze for the games room, charcoal grey for the dining room and blue for the living room.
The luxurious interior also contains thoughtful touches of Balinese culture, such as a 6-m long abstract canvas from local artist Wayan Gabrig in the living room.
To accentuate the extraordinary nature of Heavenly Residence’s location, the dining room walls are white, to resemble the limestone of the cliffs, while a tropical coral fish tank brings ocean life to the guests’ very eyes. Each of the four bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom with marble furnishings and Grohe taps and showerheads. Throughout, the generous use of mirrors not only serves to expand the spacious look of the place, but also reflects the wall-to-ceiling seaviews to near infinity. The effect is meant to be both palatial and simply heavenly. VILLA “O-WOW!’ (3+1bedroom - Villa 9) The second villa has no lack of ’wow’ factor either. Appropriately enough, it is called Villa ’O-Wow!’, an exclamation that may well come from guests who are shown how to access it.
Entry is via a private lift from the underground car park, up the cliff face, and the doors open right into a garden in the sky. It is more of coloured Javanese in style, with Borobudur-inspired stone carvings and lighting. With 600 sq m (6,458 sq ft) of space, it is as spacious as Villa OMG. The layout is a minimalist-modern interpretation of a Balinese compound, with three bedroom suites, a studio-office and the pavilion arranged within landscape grounds.
The centrepiece is an infinity-edge pool situated just over a sheer drop to the sea, appearing to pour directly out into the horizon. Views throughout the compound are spectacular, and it feels especially dramatic when enjoyed with a cold drink in hand, floating at the lip of the pool. Villa ’O-Wow!’ is ideal for two or three sophisticated urban couples to share. VILLA “O-LA-LA” (3bedroom - Villa 5) The smallest and the last expansive 3 bedroom villa is called Villa ’O-la-la’, is another three-bedroom villa, but one that comes as luxuriously furnished as the other two. Equipped also with an infinity-edge pool and well maintained gardens, it offers the same stunning views that turns even a short stay here into a heavenly experience.
All three villas have its own private infinity-edge pool which really gives the illusion of an infinity edge because its quite hard to distinct where the pool ends and where the ocean begins. Two of its villa have huge heated Jacuzzi in addition to the pool and water-falls.
